7274 series are small, lightweight, low amperage devices that are specifically designed to protect aircraft/aerospace cable and components in airborne vehicles and equipment. |
Ill be honest — I didnt want to buy this circuit breaker. My old one had been faithfully popping at the worst possible moments for 30 years, and frankly, I respected the chaos it brought to my life. Nothing keeps a pilot sharp like an unexpected electrical gremlin at 5,500 feet over a cloud layer. But my A&P told me to replace it, and you dont argue with your A&P. (They know where your logbook is.) So I ordered the Circuit Breaker 7274-2-2 from Aircraft Spruce. It arrived in a little bag that seemed insultingly small for something that now protects thousands of dollars of avionics. I held it in my palm and thought, Youre in charge now, little buddy. Installation took about 12 minutes, which was disappointing because Id cleared my whole Saturday. Since installing it, it has done absolutely nothing. It just sits there. Protecting things. Silently. No drama. No adventure. My Uavionics AV-30s work every single time now, which is honestly a little boring. Pros: Fits perfectly Does its job without complaining (unlike my co-pilot) Has not once burst into flames Cons: Too reliable. I miss the mystery. Now I have nothing to blame my bad landings on. Would I recommend? Only if you want your electrical system to work correctly, which — after reflection — I suppose you do. 10/10. Fly safe, people.
