Restraints meet TSO-C114 requirements. The inertial reel cover is black but made of a material that can be painted to match your interior if so desired. This installation requires a hole through the outer skin of the aircraft at each doorpost. Please see the photos; you will see a black “dot”. This is a ½” diameter and the kit includes a paintable, water tight plug to match the exterior of your aircraft is so desired. This is the only indication of this installation that shows on the outside of the aircraft. Fixed Strap Kit: Doublers are mounted on the door post & b pillar to create the attachment points. Inertial Reel Mounted on the Door Post / B Pillar Kit: This uses the Fixed Strap installation hardware/parts, but you are installing an inertial reel rather than a fixed strap harness. Inertial Reel Kit: The reel is mounted down on the sidewall behind the seat and the harness comes up through a D ring mounted on the door post / b pillar. Window Surround Hardware Kit: for V35, A36, 58, F33, 95-B55, 35-A33 and 35-C33 aircraft with Royalite/plastic window surrounds. |

Yes, there is a 1/2" diameter hole through the door post. A plug is provided and is made of paintable plastic so it can be painted to match.
