Note: Base systems do not include a cylinder. Cylinder must be purchased separately. The Mountain High EDS-305X is a semi-built-in supplemental oxygen system for certified aircraft, available in 2-place and 4-place configurations. It is FAA-NORSEE (Non-required Safety Enhancing Equipment) approved and eligible for installation under policy statement PS-AIR-21.8-1602, pursuant to 14 CFR 21.8(d), on aircraft certified under 14 CFR Part 23, for supplemental use up to 12,500 feet. The system uses Mountain High's patented Pulse Demand™ Electronic Delivery System (EDS), which provides exceptional oxygen conservation and extended cylinder supply for comfort, safety and sustained flight duration. Each system includes an oxygen cylinder mounting kit, a pressure-reducing regulator, an EDS O2D2-2G delivery unit with mounting bracket, feed tube, dispensing cannulas and masks, and an external power kit. The 4-place system includes two O2D2 kits, two brackets and two power kits, plus a feed tube split kit adapter. The O2D2 can also be used in single-place mode, so the systems serve up to 2 or up to 4 occupants. Compatible cylinders: the system is used with a portable DOT/TC-rated cylinder with a manually actuated CGA-540 valve installed. Only Mountain High-approved cylinders and valves may be used with this system. If you plan to use your own cylinder, make sure it is an approved model with an approved CGA-540 valve. Choose the system configured for your cylinder:
Installation and limitations: installation is approved for supplemental use only, up to 12,500 feet, and is not intended to replace an existing, approved or required system. It is intended as a minor alteration, provided the requirements of 14 CFR Part 1.1 and 14 CFR Part 43 Appendix A are met and the installation does not obstruct the pilot's view of required instrumentation. NORSEE is strictly a production approval: the FAA has not evaluated installation of this equipment, and NORSEE does not grant installation approval, Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) or Technical Standard Order Authorization (TSOA). Installation must be accomplished as a minor alteration, or as a major alteration substantiated by FAA-approved data such as a field approval or follow-on STC. If there is any doubt about the category of installation, contact your local FAA FSDO. |
