Tempest’s SPIN EZ filters are designed to come off easy. Heat, time and pressure can extrude oil, grease, DC4® compound or similar liquid lubricants from between a filter’s rubber seal and the filter mount pad - leaving the filter seemingly “bonded” to the engine’s mount pad - and making it nearly impossible to remove. Tempest’s proprietary SPIN EZ adhered solid seal lubricant stays where it’s supposed to - between the seal and the mount pad’s surface. SPIN EZ solid lubricant won’t extrude or squirt out from under the seal. It prevents the bond forming environment that makes legacy filters stick.

These are the short ones that you can put on the 0300 engine, that’s what we use them on. Normally we use the longer 109 filters, and we change them every 50 hours, but I figure the 109 is even better filtering if there’s more of it. (They were out of stock when I ordered) We do our oil at 25 and our filters at 50, and our Flight school always goes way past TBO on our engines, and we never even have to do top overhauls. I attribute this to super frequent oil changes and multi probe engine monitors . Our students do not get to have their first solo until they can show us how they manage a CHT and an EGT year-round. Do yourself a favor, equip your airplanes like this and you will get way more life out of your engines.
