Contrary to the Q&A, the probe/clamp assembly does include a lead approximately 13 long measured from the clamp. It also includes two OLC-2 connectors already attached to the lead, the allen wrench needed to splice it in, and instructions.

These are excellent probes. Ive used many over the years. It seems they last about 10-15 years. Not bad for a measuring instrument that lives in the exhaust stream. Ive always bought my replacements from Spruce.

Had one probe fail where it was touching the cowl wore through the insulation. New probe works perfectly.

The probe doesnt get 5 starts but Aircraft Spruce does. We had aircraft with brand new CGR30P Twin System and one probe turned out bad out of the box. Plane had to go and EI could care less and couldnt ship out overnight because it was past their ship time at 2 in the afternoon. Aircraft Spruce came through--they always do!!!!!

My original EI EGT probe became worn and could be pulled out of exhaust by hand. Supplied connectors worked as advertised. Main clamp is too large and needed to bend back or excess clamp material would hit the probe when tightened. The probe itself was a a great replacement and has already paid for itself in AVGAS. I see it lasting another +20 years!

I have twelve of these probes that have been installed on my twin for just over six years. I’ve had to replace at least four of them over that timeframe due to failure. Had I been aware of the high failure rate of these probes, I would’ve opted for the “Robust” probes in my EI setup. Having said that, they work great. Until they fail.

These probes work well when they actually work, but have a reputation of being a high failure rate item. I have replaced four (of 12) of these probes in the 1.5 years and 125 flight hours since initial engine monitor installation. If I had it to do over again, I wouldve chosen the more robust (slower response time?) probes for my system that EI offers. Fortunately, EIs superior customer service and the high quality of their monitors help make up for these weak link probes.

Aircraft Spruce was prompt on delivery with the correct part. Unfortunately, the probe did not work. My A&P mechanic is going through warranty channels to get it replaced. EI has been very helpful in the process. I would prefer not to have to give stars - just comment on service follow up.
