The Artex ME406 Whip Antenna is 14 inches long. As for bending the antenna, it is not designed for nor is it recommended that the antenna be bent.

Q: What speed is this Artex ME406 Whip antenna rated to?

Maximum airspeed of 200 KIAS (knots indicated airspeed at sea level).

Q: The Description says both frequencies. But the the Artex ME406 ELT is capable of transmitting on three frequencies 121.5, 243 and 406 MHZ. These three bands are required per DO-204 Minimal Operational Performance Standards of 406 MHZ Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT). Can you please confirm?

Per the manufacturer, this unit will only transmit on 121.5 and 406.

Per Artex: "If a ground plane is required, we recommend that you follow FAA AC 43.13-2B.310 when installing an antenna on non-metal aircrafts."
