Real Gasket RG-200Pr Pushrod Tube Kit - 1 Cyl
June 19, 2026
The process of replacing the original pushrod tubes is daunting. Cutting the old tubes off with a hacksaw does not seem appropriate. But, once you do one the rest are very easy. Definitely get the spring compressor and follow the directions. You will be happy to get rid of the old leaky rubber seals and Hog Ring clamps

Works great! For clearance from exhaust on cylinder #6 of an O-300 install, had to slightly dent the exhaust. These have a slightly bigger OD than original.

Great product once installed. Instructions left a little to be desired. My original lifter covers needed quite a bit of machining before the tube adapters would slide onto them far enough for the seals to work as intended. All in all it’s definitely a better system than the stock design. I’ll use them again.

Great kit. Installed over the past few days as I did a full re-seal on my C-90. With this kit and a host of new gaskets, I am finally leak free (for now).

I have just installed these on 2 cylinders. Quick call to Chris at REAL Seals and he gave me some tips and tricks to make the installation go super smooth. ACS was quick to ship and they arrived in perfect condition!

Kit to stop leaks, excellent instructions, price was very good also. This kit sure beats Continental kit price

Ordered a complet set for my O-300-A. After disassembly of exhaust, intake manifold and rockers, removal of old tubes were cut with a saws-all. Old tubes came out with a little effort, but easily. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. I read them about 5 times before it really sank in. Once I got started, everything made sense. Do only one cylinder at a time. Kits are well made and complete. Must use their installation spring compressor. Consider it part of the cost of the job. All parts are FAA/PMA so only a log book entry required. Tubes work on all Continental engines A-65 through O-300 series (See AML). This is the answer to leaky OEM push rod tubes.

Easy to install. Really makes a difference in the look. Remember to replace intake hoses.

Great kit but instead of saying you’ll void warranty if using safety wire how about if you use zip ties and put any extra pressure on the tube to compress the spring you will absolutely ruin the seal that goes against the lifter cover every single time. Instead of saying if you use Continental spring compressor you void the warranty how about if used you will damage the seals and cause more leaks than if you had the old 1956 style seals. The lifter cover edges are sharp therefor they can easily cut into the rg 536410 seals. Taking it apart for the third time is always fun. Buy the tool as it will save days of down time. Instead of covering themselves from warranty claims how about a little explanation as why not to use safety wire, zip ties, or pushing them in place and ruining the seals??? I mean there’s clearly no shortage of paper or ink for the page that says ”don’t be a typical male, read the instructions”

This is a good kit to update the rod tubes on TCMs. Several people have commented on the instructions not being clear, or using extreme measures to remove the old tubes and install the new ones. Hire a quality A&P Technician to change these out! Remember, if youre not a certificated A&P, you cant change these yourself. Unless youre doing some shady work and if you are, this will seem like a nightmare to you! A good A&P can have these done in no time!

Be advised....order a spring compressor along with the tube kit. AC Spruce should mention that you need to buy a Real gaskets spring compressor to install the kit. If you use safety wire to compress the spring it will void the warranty. Ended up building my own compressor as I was in the middle of the job and did not want to wait for a compressor order to arrive. Job was straight forward and not difficult with the exception of the extra time require to build a spring compressor.

Pros:
Cylinders do NOT need to come off
Superior quality machine work.
Cons:
Oddly, requires the use of copper silicone to seal the rocker box side of the tube. Not too sure about this over the long haul.
Semi-complicated instructions or more accurate to write, lack of detail.
Should come with a spring compression clamp or at least offer one. Absolutely must have to install.
Exhaust can stay on, intake tubes must come off (Cessna 150J).
Must cut old pushrod tubes off with a saw (I used bolt cutters).
Removing the old tubes can be tough. I used a vice grip and a hammer to remove. Some could be wiggled out.
The job is not overly complicated, but the need to remove baffling may uncover some secondary repairs.

Really glad that someone did make this kit, but the person writing the directions should have finished more than the 6th grade. I was totally surprised that I had to almost take the engine apart to get the new tubes on and the old ones off. I ground off the old tubes with a small grinder that worked great. I could not see anyway to use a saw of any kind. I tried several types of saws and never even got close to cutting one into. The kit works and I think that my tube leaks are a thing of the past. But, this job is not for the faint of heart or weak on mechanics.
