I havent finished building my Sonex yet, but I did fit it to the 1/4 pitot tube and it works fine. I cant see any problems with it at all, you have to make sure to adjust it to the right distance from the front of the pitot for it to operate correctly. Cheers.

Seems to work OK but quality is average. Needs some adjustment once attached. Certainly not the same quality as one I had some years ago on my Cherokee.

Very simple installation. This one was not well built, but it is sufficient. The flap does not seat well, but it will work.

Quality appears good, but the design is poor. The flat part of the flapper extends past the opening. Ill probably use it as is because if I shorten it, it may effect the balance and it wouldnt close.

The pitot tube protector will not open far enough to be out of the airflow going into the pitot tube. I will have to disassemble it and try to set it to open further. The cotter pin used as a hinge pin is very cheap looking but will allow me to disassemble easily to fix the problem. I will find a better solution for the hinge pin. The only nice part is the compression fit on the pitot tube. My old flip up pitot protector for $3 works better.

Be aware pitot cover may not open at the speed your aircraft requieres. It was too heavy for my 172 took too long to open.

Purchased for RV8. This protector Will not cover the whole Pitot port. It Will have to be modified. Will not serve it purpose out of the box. Very loose flapper with lots of side play. Could of been a easy fix for the manufacture. I do not recommend. Build your own.

Poor design. The disk misses covering the pitot hole. When closed. An insect could still enter the hole. On the first flight the arm stayEd up in the flying position even after the plane was rolled into the hangar. I wouldn’t buy it again.
