I love this little heater! My engine remains warm with the oil temps consistently in the low 60’s in an unheated hangar where the temp has been 20-30F.

Solid unit. Several times I would not fly due to not turning on my block heater the day before. This is low heat, but enough to keep the engine at solid starting temps at all times. I should have bought it years ago.

The twin hornet is small but mighty. It takes about 2 days to heat a cold soaked engine and keeps it warm even at 10°.

Nice heater, I would recommend to anyone. I set it on the top of the motor and works in sub-zero weather.

Works as advertised. I placed it on top of the cylinders, put the cowl plugs in and blanket on top. Less than 24hrs later the cylinders were 67 degrees, bottom of oil filler tube was 61 degrees. Inside of hangar was 53 degrees and the airplane was cold soaked. Hassle free, no mess, safe & too easy.

Q: I have a Baron 58. Does it come with one or two heaters for each motor?

This is sold as each engine. If you have a twin you will need to buy (2).

Q: How long do you plug this in and operate before needing the plane? I am hoping an hour does the job

Because the heater is thermostatically controlled, it should be plugged in at all times when the ambient temperature is below 60 degrees. To answer your question, it can take up to 48 hours to heat a cold soaked engine.

Q: By leaving the unit plugged in constantly, what is the risk of creating a greenhouse effect inside the engine (condensation)?

Per Manufacturer: One of the biggest advantages of the Twin Hornet 22 is that it keeps the engine above the dew point at all times, this eliminates any possibility of condensation.
