Easy to install as a replacement of the old incandescent light, very pleased with the result!
Easy replacement for the incandescent original in my S35 Bonanza.
Nice and bright. Since changing lights is on the list of elementary work, I was able to install the Parmetheus Plus Led myself. I did just the left side and left the halogen in the right side so that I could see the difference - and there was. The Parmetheus is whiter and brighter than the halogen.
Ordered and delivered promptly. Yet, I ordered the wrong one. I needed the larger PAR46 for the 1972 172L I have. Once the PAR46 cam, It was an easy install. The PAR46 came just as quickly as well.. Sent the 36 back for credit. Aircraft Spruce was extremely helpful in the exchange.
Replaced the original incandescent bulb on my Cherokee 180. Easy swap, easily 2x more light and the bright white color illuminated better than the soft yellow of the incandescent.
I had one problem. On the install of this item. The bulb I was replacing was a filament type where the polarity was not significant. The first hookup, the LED bulb did not light up. I reversed the wiring and it lit up. So I marked the bulb, with a marker, with Pos and Neg for future replacements.
Very bright, and a much smaller power draw than the GE4509. Install was very easy in an AA-5. The fit is a little tight in the retaining ring with the silicone gasket, but a very light application of silicone lubricant allowed a tight fitment and seal in the retaining ring.
What a difference this Led light makes. Very happy with it if you don’t have one you should get one.

This unit alone does NOT have a pulse mode option. An aftermarket pulse system would need to be installed on the aircraft to put the light into pulse mode.
Whelen does have an STC, but it is not included in the box. The STC can be viewed on the Whelen web site, www.whelen.com .
This is just a replacement lamp, that the aircraft owner should be able to replace with a log book entry, but we always recommend you consult with your A&P to verify there are no other requirements.
