I have a 28V test box with a wingtip light assy as a power indicator. Bought one of these to put in place of the incandescent bulb due to heat. Blubs are direct replacement for the incandescent bulbs for my NAV lights in my R182. Im hopeful the LED blubs will greatly outlast the regular bulbs. Time will tell. They are much brighter.
Got the lights installed and they work great. They are bright and causes no radio interference. thank you for a great product.
One of these 2 bulbs was dead! Called you & you told me to call mfgr. They made me go to the airport & test the bulb directly on the plane’s battery. I told them I already knew it was bad because it would not work in the same socket as the other similar bulb & 3 other known good bulbs. But I went & tested it & it was still dead. So I had to pay $15+ to ship it to the mfgr. They are shipping me another one. Somebody should reimburse me the $15+ shipping cost, but knowing how cutthroat businesses are, I’m sure that will never happen. Beware of buying any AeroLED products.
These units are supposed to be a drop in replacement for later model Cessna 172 wingtip Nav lights. In my case the base tip needed to be filed down by a few mms to allow the lugs to engage the slots in the socket. Not difficult but it took some time and avionics professional opinion to know this was the issue. This may only be an issue with some sockets. Mine did not have a spring loaded base which would probably allow for a longer base tip.
