| A simple tool to gap 2-,3-or 4 electrode 18mm spark-plugs. Only 2" overall, comfortably handheld. Precision made of stainless steel. 'T' handle adjusters move the ground electrodes closer to the center electrode until wire feeler identifies proper gap. Adjusters have fine thread with ball tips for precise movement. |
There are many gap setting tools out there, however: This one is a gem! Its small, so it fits in a tool kit or glove box, and can set your massive electrode plugs precisely (this is NOT intended for use with projected nose (BY) and fine wire type plugs). The trick is to close the gap until a .015 wire wont slide through the gap, then screw the T handle out and recheck the gap with the .015 and .016 (or .018) wires. After a few tries, youll develop a feel for how the electrodes spring back a thousandth or two. I use the Blue Point (Snap-On) wire gauge set.
