SAF-AIR push type fuel drain valves are close tolerance valves of simple design. These valves provide the most trouble free operation of any other line of valves in the industry. SAF-AIR valves are manufactured with an o-ring placed on the stem to seal against a flat seat on the body. This design eliminates an area where dirt can gather, thus putting an end to the main cause of fuel drain valve drip. FAA & PMA APPROVED. Note: Aircraft applications are for general reference only. Verify correct valve for your aircraft before ordering. I ordered two of these for my 1979 PA28-161. I should have researched it more, since original equipment was CCA-1550 which has a 1/8 20 tapered pipe tread. The CAV 160 does not fit a 1979 PA28-161 Warrior II. Apparently the correct valve is a CAV-110. I tried to check and photograph the currently installed unit, but no numbers were showing up. Since these units are rebuildable, be sure to order the replacement O-Ring. Dont forget the tread lube that is also recommended. This gets a 3 star not because of the part but because the description states that it fits my plane. But of course, it doesnt.
It was listed as fitting a PA28... however, it was the wrong size for my PA28-140.
This valve will take O-Ring # MS29513-006.
