Temporary replacement for yoke mounted Push to Talk that was malfunctioning. Easy to install and works perfectly.

I bought this and several other adapters for my Flightcom intercom to allow my instructor to be able to transmit. So far it works as described, mounted to the yoke easily, and appears to be robust.

Great unit at a reasonable price, worked nicely right out of the box.

Works great. This one does not have the junction box that has been the source of failure of 3 previous PTT cables.

Functions exactly as promised - I tried a lesser-priced PTT from another vendor, albeit one that cost 1/2 as much, but it did not work with stereo headsets properly with my digital panel.
This switch works well with all my headsets plugged into a PMA450 intercom. The switch itself is lower-profile, and thus less conspicuous on the yoke. Good strap for placement that stays put.
So -- purchase this knowing it will work. Did for me.

I had some Mic Comm issues and needed a standby PTT to make things work and avoid Class C space. Didnt have one but I do now. Cheap, SMART Ins!!!

Although I dont like a PTT strapped to the yoke this one seems to stay put and is easy to use. Otherwise it does the job as it is intended to so Im satisfied with it.

Good solution for right seat communications over back up Mic

Returned to Spruce. Similar complaint to others. The female fitting wasn’t a tight enough fit for the male plug. The system worked, but any vibration caused static.

I bought this headset jack and installed it in my plane. Our jacks are hard-wired to the console so I cut the jack wire and wired it in. Seems to work great and I have had zero problems with it.

I have a Taylorcraft with an in-panel intercom and David Clark headsets and I have used this PTT with for about a year. I finally switched to a Lightspeed ANR headset and the mic jack on the PTT doesnt seem to fit that HS correctly and I have to constantly monitor it. The HS mic plug will fall out or cause static in the device. I have adjusted the internal connections in the PTT but the headset mic plug still is loose. I thought all this stuff was standard. Until I used this new HS, it seemed to be fine.

The product does not work as described. The connections are loose despite trying multiple headsets. Maybe it’s just a bad batch but when flying you need to be able to count on your equipment. Loose connections make for lots of static and not able to communicate with ATC when needed.

ASA PUSH TO TALK SWITCH
July 24, 2021
I bought the push to talk about a year ago, and it worked pretty good. Then it started getting static through it and I would have to play with the headset jack to make it stop, only to have the static come back. Being an instructor I have many students that have these in there own aircraft and almost all of them have the same problem with the headset jack being loose and making static.

I bought one of these to replace an identical switch with the common issue of a loose connection on the plug (I wish I would have read the other reviews before I ordered it!). Same issue as the one I intended to replace. I ended up replacing both of my switches with a different brand. Dont waste your money on this switch.

as with the other reviews, the connection is very loose fitting causing static, very annoying, probably cut off and hard wire.
would not recommend this product.

The female jack is of poor quality. The mic jack from the headset plugging into it is loose and causes static or it to not work at all. Returned it to ASA for warranty replacement. Which they did, but the second one is just as bad. They have a real quality problem as it seems many others have seen the same problem. Too bad, I like the low profile switch.

Worked for a month. Connection to Bose headset at the interface became sloppy and communications are now sporadically engaged...

Have purchased two of these for our flight school, both were junk. Similar complaint to others. The female fitting was not a tight enough fit for the male plug. Any vibration (aka engine running) caused static. Connection is loose enough to cause the male fitting to disconnect randomly in-flight. Very frustrating for students and instructors in a learning environment. Do not recommend.

I should have read the reviews first, because I am having the exact same problem as some other people- the female headset jack is too loose so I am getting alot of static. It was driving me crazy until I figured out it was this switch. I had to hold the plug in just a certain way to make the static go away.

I bought this PTT switch this week and on delivery placed it straight in my plane. It doesnt work, the female plug is too large and as such doesnt make a reliable connection. I cant use this PTT at all as it isnt reliable to talk on. Read the comments below, they are true. Dont buy this product.

Purchased this and the inlet hole (female) is to large and my Bose headset plug or any other do not stay in and headset will not work. Have to get a better one. Found this out on the first trip, was not fun had to hold the male from my headset in, in order to talk.
