Q: Does this include the fuel pressure transducer?
Per JPI, The EDM-900 does not come with a fuel pressure transducer. It is an option that can be added to the order.
Q: Will the EDM-900 interface with a Garmin 796?
A Garmin 796 can interface with the EDM900 through a data cable such as part number: 11-10044.
Q: Can probes from an EDM-700 be used for some functions or do a new set of probes need to be installed?
Per the manufacturer: It is recommended to use the new probes included with the kit.
Q: Can the JPI EDM 900 be flush mounted?
Yes, please see part number 10-06563 for the flush mount option.
Q: Can the screen layout be changed on the JPI EDM-900? For example, if I dont want tach and MP being monitored can I use that screen space for something else?
No, only non-primary data can be changed.
Q: Can this JPI EDM-900 interface with a Garmin 530?
Yes, RS-232 connections can provide GPS data to the EDM 900.

Q: What are the dimensions of the JPI EDM-900?
Per JPI - 3.56" deep (connectors recessed)- 4.81" wide, 3.47" high, fits a 3.125" hole.
Q: Is the JPI EDM 900 a plug and play replacement for the EDM830?
No, this is not a plug and play replacement for the EDM 830.
Q: Can the EDM 900 display carburetor temp like the 700 does?
Yes, carburetor temperature is an option on the JPI EDM 900.
Q: Can the JPI EDM-900 display Degrees Centigrade instead of Fahrenheit, Liters instead of Gallons, bar instead of psi... ?
The EDM 900 can display celcius and liters but not bar.
Q: With the installation of 2 separate units Is the EDM 900 approved for use in a twin engine aircraft?
No, this cannot be done. You will need the EDM 960 which is designed for twin engine aircraft.
Q: Has the EDM900 a backup battery to continue operating in the event of a central electric power failure?
No this unit does not come with any backup power source
Q: Due to panel space I will start with the JPI-900 mounted in portrait mode. Once I do a full panel upgrade I will switch to landscape mode. Can this be changed by the user/installer or will it have to be shipped back to the factory for the change?
Please refer to the manual on page 9 or 52. This page will indicate how to change the orientation of the unit.
Q: The check out section says there is an order form to be filled out. It says it is in the documents tab section? I see nothing there.

Q: Since the EDM 900 becomes a primary instrument, is it required that the factory/OEM gauges be removed, or may they be left installed? Must the old instruments be marked as reference, or such?
This is a primary replacement and does not require you to keep many of your original gauges.
Q: Does the JPI 900 comes with STC document?
No, the STC documents are not in the box, but they are available for download from the JPI website.
Q: From the Videos, it appears that the EDM-900 Display is offset, ie: not centered, on the instrument mounting hole. Is there a diagram which describes this offset?

Q: Is there an Angle Mount available for the JPI EDM-900 (similar to your Part# 11-07310)?
At this time, there is no angle mount for the EDM 900.
Q: For weight & Balance purposes what is the weight of the EDM 900, cant seem to find required info.
According to the JPI website FAQs section the weight of the EDM-900/950 is 1.7 lbs.
Q: Can the shadin fuel flow transducer 201B be used with the edm900 install?
Yes, per the Manufacturer installation manual the Shadin 201B is compatible with the EDM 900 .Rev k page 21.
Q: Does the EDM-900 use fuel flow and initial fuel state to calculate remaining fuel? or does it use a transducer in the fuel tank? I am trying to decide whether my ability to report actual fuel state is better with this than standard fuel transducer with fuel gauges, which are very unreliable. Thanks!
This unit uses fuel senders in the tanks. The EDM has the capability to process signals from three types of sender signals: Resistive output, Voltage output or Frequency output.
Q: My Super Decathlon has an RPM restriction for continuous operation between 2000 and 2250 rpm. Can this be displayed on the JPI-900?
When you fill out the required order form, the manufacturer requests for the Engine limitations page and a few other documents that will take into account engine restrictions and limitations.
Q: Can no tanks option be later upgraded to include fuel tanks?
It is possible to add this option at a later time, however the core must be returned to JPI in order to complete the addition.
Q: Does the JPI EDM 900 have TIT option?
Yes, this unit is capable of showing TIT. Please view part number: 10-06476
Q: Will this work with Garmin 400 gps, do I require additional connectors not included with kit?
Yes, this will connect to a GPS for interface. This simply requires wiring to be completed. It does not require additional connectors.
Q: I have a carb probe for my 700. Is it plug and play with the 900?
Yes, these use the same option probes.
Q: Does the JPI EDM 900 include FAA 8130-3 form?
No, the export 8130 form is not included. It must be requested at the time of order (additional fees will apply).
Q: If there is only 1 RPM sensor, how does the display/sensor know when you are testing the mags to display the correct RPM drop between the two?
This unit only monitors the RPM off (1) magneto.
Q: Does the no tanks version allow for fuel calculations based on a manually entered fuel quantity? For example, can I tell it a starting amount of say 35g, and let the totalizer calculate fuel remaining, endurance, etc?
Yes, there is manual fuel calibration. Once installed the mechanic can set the calibrations for tank size and full/half/low.
Q: Can JPI 930 interface with Garmin G175 GPS?
No, the JPI 900 and GPS 175 manuals do not call out compatibility with one another. The 900 can interface with GNS 430/530 or GNX 80/ GX 60 with GPS Interface: Use the J4 connector harness 700708 labeled RS232 OUT TO GPS (white) and RS232 IN FROM GPS (gray). Refer to the Manufactures GPS manual for the required pin connections on the GPS.
