 This is the premium clear nitrate dope from Randolph specifically formulated for applications requiring hi-solids. Very durable.(Not for use on Ceconite fabric).Available in quart, gallon, and 5 gallon sized.Do not mix Certified Coatings dopes and thinners with Randolph products as they are not always compatible. Use all Certified Coatings products or all Randolph products. |

Really great stuff for the scratch model builder ! I require taughtening Nitrate as it shrinks for a short period and then remains stable . I run diesels (compression ignition) engines only and do not require special fuel proof finishes . I have a model first flown in 1982 which was finished in Nitrate dope and is still in use today 2024 . Aircraft Spruce has been my supplier in recent years as model dopes are usually no longer available in hobby shops .

Again , five stars ! I most often use synthetic fibre cloth-like covering materials e.g. polyester dress lining materials . These can be applied hand tight and then shrunk somewhat with a medium hot preesing iron . The nitrate dope applies a futher tightening degree and flows on easily and is air tight after only a couple of coats . One model still flying 42 years later still looks like new ! And nitrate dope stops shrinking fairly soon unlike butyrate dopes which NEVER stop shrinking ! Excellent product for the model builder !
