The 7-inch touch screen aviation GPS has been reborn! The next evolution is still big and bright enough to read easily in flight and affordable!
An included suction mount with multiple articulation points. The touch screen interface is incredibly simple to use. No installation or setup required. Just turn it on and you're ready to fly!
The iFly 740b is loaded with digital copies of FAA sectionals, IFR Low Enroute charts, airport diagrams, approach plates, and more. In fact, everything from planning to flying is designed around image enhanced maps from the FAA. Sweep your finger across the screen to scroll through the map, quick-tap to switch to another sectional, drag a route line to avoid a TFR, tap an airport to get detailed information, etc, etc. It's easy, intuitive, and fast.
Fly in all conditions and terrain with more confidence with the most advanced Portable Synthetic Vision available. iFly's Synthetic Vision uses the official FAA obstacle database and SRTM Terrain Data provided by NASA. When connected to an ADS-B receiver, the 740b will display 3D traffic on the synthetic vision.
The iFly 740b Outshines the Competition! The brightest sunny day and clear bubble canopies are no match for the new iFly 740b. Perfect for those extra bright cockpits with 1100 nits of brightness to power through the sun's challenges. Never has there been such advanced hardware at such a great price. This sunlight-readable GPS won’t break the bank or your eyes!
The iFly 740b now packs an internal circuit protected Li-Po battery to provide approximately 30 minutes of internal backup power. Use the internal battery to perform a quick update via Wi-Fi, Check the Weather or File your Flight Plan prior to flight time. The iFly 740b is unplugged!
Fast Updates and Filing from Almost Anywhere! With the iFly 740b's powerful built-in Wi-Fi capability, you can connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot and enjoy fast and easy automated data updates and Nexrad Weather. Use the new Online Flight Filing feature through Lockheed Martin Flight Services. Plan, File, Activate and Close right from the 740b.
Compatibility with uAvionix ADSB drove my decision to buy this system. I allowed my iFly subscription to expire and am now experiencing software problems eg, map shows expired TFRs, NOTAMS arent current, fuel prices are dated. Told by iFly that I need a subscription to fix these issues. This would have been nice to know info prior to making a purchase decision. Also, battery is of little use, rapidly drains. Otherwise, I like its features as a back-up nav system.

Very cool product. Does everything I need and way more. I hooked up a stratux adsb and it paired right up to the 740b. Cool to watch traffic at KMSO 45 miles away. Takes a while to boot up.

Have not been able to use this in flight but after getting set up looks like will work well. Customer support is great thank you I fly
I purchased an ifly many years ago and was very happy with the system. It has served us well through our travels. Recently, we had a problem while in flight and the iFly system shut down. Calling Adventure Pilot for help turned out to be a very pleasant and successful endeavor. They couldnt fix the card - it was corrupted - and they not longer supported that version (pretty old!), Bottom line: we will have a new version card within a few days with minimal charge and no hassle. Great service!
Pros: Great GPS for the money. Lots of various functions and options. Easy and comfortable flight planning. Solid satellite locks with its internal GPS WAAS antenna. Internal 15min backup battery. Operating temp up to 176F which is amazing! Very bright! Cons: Screen takes some man handling to scroll, sometimes it takes a second tap to trigger - this could definitely be made better and more responsive. Does not have anti-reflection screen coating in fact acts more like a mirror. Processing power could be a touch better but not too bad though. Screen resolution could be better although its standard for 7 screen gadgets nowadays. Conclusion: For those who dont want to brake the bank its irreplaceable deal! Try out their iFLY GPS android app that is pretty much an exact copy of what you will find on the actual 740b. PANEL MOUNT OPTION: their iFLY store sells so called RAM Mount Adapter. It actually consist of 2 parts sandwiched together - ball mount and device bracket mount. Unscrew ball part out and use the other half to screw directly to your panel. This design will leave 1/4 gap between GPS and your panel but it works and looks great! I do recommend this good product despite a few minor shortcomings.
Working good. Bigger screen than my Garmin Aera 500 that it replaced. Ive been using the iFly app for ADS-B in so decided just to get the GPS unit. It syncs with my Stratux ADS-B unit.
Hard to find anything at all less than excellent on this. Among other things that make it stand out from other moving map aviation GPSs are these: This 740b is a dedicated hardware GPS. But you can get free (not counting subscription) a version for an iPad, iPhone, or an Android tablet or cellphone. The cool thing about that is that then in my tablet I have a full function GPS thats a perfect backup to this device. The really cool thing about that is the interface/controls on the tablet or cellphone version are identical to those on the dedicated hardware box. And the flight plans, etc, can be synced between them. That way if I have to fall back to the GPS on the tablet using it is completely familiar. The last thing I want to be doing if the main GPS fails is stumbling around in a different backup GPS whose interface Im not familiar with. Finally, The customer support from the maker (Adventure Pilot) is excellent.
Great easy to use GPS. I use it in two different airplanes (one has an overhead plexi roof) and never have a problem seeing the screen. Love the self dimming buttons and route rubberbanding. I think the external antenna should come with the unit but its a small additional cost.
I put this in the airplane at OSH 2018 200 flying hours ago. The 740b is the most reliable avionics that I have ever owned. The iPad and Android devices overheat and run out of battery but the i740b always works.
Was sceptical about buying this gps, I flew with a friend of mine who owned a Garmin that he bought 5-6 years ago but paid $2300 to $2400 for. I paid $700 for my I fly 740 and I like it better with out a doubt. It doesnt have nav Canada maps yet but I dont need the Vector map display had all the information you need for the flying I do, if you fly in controlled airspace it doesnt show the rings of control and altitude but Im not flying into controlled airspace at all anyway, I just fly around it. From what Ive read Nav Canada mapping will be upload to us in the near future anyway if you do need it.
