Reviews

I thought the product should be thicker. Mix with stick, do not shake it will brake down the bigger colored stuff. I used a brush to apply to my composite aircraft interior. It relay looks great and hides some of the imperfections. I had primer filler on some sections and it covered very well. The raw resin will take 3-4 coats to cover. It has a strong odor and you need to ventilate. After a few days the bad odor somehow smelt like a air freshener

Q: Is Zolatone mixed or diluted with anything or can it be applied as is from the can?

It can be applied right out of the can.

Q: Can this Zolatone Cockpit paint be used on a fabric covered aircraft baggage compartment?

If the compartment is made of fiberglass, it will work fine, but not recommended for fabric/dacron.

Q: Can Zolatone be rolled on?

No, it must be sprayed.

Q: The only reference to a primer that I can find is to use a Zolatone base primer. Does anyone know where to find this base primer? Is there an equivalent primer that can be used?

Per the supplier: the Zolatone primer is no longer available but this is a waterborne product and you can use any epoxy primer that is recommended for the material that this is going on.

Q: Can zolatone be used on metal?

Yes, it can.

Q: What is the mix ratio to a qt of paint to hardner. My direction on the other quart I have was torn off.

Zolotone 20 series paints come ready to use.

Q: Can Zolatone be applied with a standard HVLP spray gun?

Per Vendor: It can but I would recommend about a 2.0 tip size. 1.8 may work also.

Q: Is primer absolutely required prior to Zolatone application on fiberglass? Can Zolatone be applied without sanding the primer?

The manufacturer recommends a white based primer, such as an epoxy primer.

Q: Can you use the paint to paint aircraft cabin side wall?

Yes, this paint is used as an interior paint.
