Q: What is the service life on this standard carbon monoxide detector?

This carbon monoxide detector (09-35600) should be replaced every 12-months.

Q: The package says its good for a year from the date opened, why do you recommend 30-60 day replacement?

12 months is correct.

Q: What is the ppm threshold and how long does it take to show on the patch?

A clear reaction shows between a level of 100ppm and 200ppm (Parts Per Million - ppm). Within approximately 30 minutes depending on humidity. At 200ppm exposure over many hours, the symptoms of CO poisoning would be a slight headache and perhaps some dizziness.

Q: What are the dimensions?

Approx 2 inch x 2 inch.

Q: How do you apply the patch, does is stick on, lets say to a car dashboard?

They have a strip of doublesided tape on the back.

Q: Is this detector still usable after a CO2 exposure? In other words will the color of the dot go back and forth from orange to black as the CO2 level changes or is it a one-way trip from orange to black?

These are one time use, if the color changes you would need to replace it.
