The PAD-LOK by L W Spiro is a padded control surface lock that secures flaps, ailerons, elevators or rudder quickly, simply and safely! The soft foam pads compress to surface configuration and wont damage the aircraft's surface or finish. The bright red UV resistant DayGlo polycarbonate disc won't fade, chip, or absorb water to ensure years of service under normal conditions.

The highly-visible bright red discs and vinyl coated orange nylon streamer stand out against the aircraft's surface as a reminder to the pilot of the need to remove the control surface lock during pre-flight safety inspections

. The PAD-LOK padded control surface lock measures approximately 4.25 inches in diameter by 1.25 inches thick and weighs about 3 ounces.


Works as advertised and at a great price. I still have my original one from 4 years ago and have bought this as an additional gust lock since the other one still works well. I have it on my Cessna that sits outside 24/7 365 days a year in all weather and wind conditions.

This is my second set. If your plane is tied down, exposed to the weather, you can expect about two years of useful life before the foam inserts begin to break down and break apart. In addition, the metal eye bolts and nuts will rust.

Great design, love the padding, just wish it were a bit larger. Still allows some deflection in 30 knot winds. :( Stands out well, and easy to use.

Good concept but on my Meyers 200, the gap on ailerons and elevator was not big enough for the bolt to fit without damage.

Too small, with no mechanical advantage. It wonât work on a tube and fabric rudder. Iâm sure it will work Mich better on an metal rudder, however.

The lock is unusable on the rudder of a piper Seneca. The bolt is too short for the thickness of the rudder.
