Bought a new (used) Cherokee. Fuel gauges read L- Full, R 1/4 full. Looked in tanks, and saw fuel, bur couldnt gauge it visually. So we flew it back top our local airport on L- tank. (luckily) Only a 20 minute flight. Put the airplane away and it rained for a week. When the dip stick arrived, I went to the hanger to check the tanks R-tank was in fact, 1/4 full, but L-tank had 2 gallons left.

My kind of product! Easy to use, no more guessing, squinting at how much is left below the filler neck and it fits in my flight bag.

Checked fuel level before refueling and after filling tanks. Readings were right on. Lots more confidence knowing how much fuel is available without having to fill the tanks before every flight.

Easy to use. However the only question that initially comes to mind is the central slide whether it should be at the bottom or top of the fuel tube. It’s a little confusing.

Really accurate for visual inspection of fuel in tanks

Simple and accurate. It’s great to have a 20 gallon stick for my 172N since most are 19 gallon and really aren’t very helpful. My only complaint is that the scale is not etched on the tube but printed on a plastic insert inside. This can move around, so you need to make sure it is bottomed out prior to use. It could also potentially fall out.

I have a PA-28-235B and ordered the PA-28 dipstick. It appears to be quite accurate for my main tanks, but I have to recalibrate the reading for my aux tanks. I am using ~70% of the reading for a tank that can only hold 17 gallons and reads 25 on the dipstick. Guarantee it is better than trying to eyeball the tank.

I liked this product, but realized the fuel level indicator is not secured in the tube and falls out. I realized this when I went to use it during my last flight and the gage was not where it was supposed to be. Make sure you dont invert it accidently. It was accurate I can say that.

Crazy expensive for what it is, especially with shipping, which doubled the price.

On the homebuilt one....nice idea, but like the other gentleman, I noticed that putting your finger over the end does not keep the fuel in the tube like it should. Disappointed, and going to another solution.

A cheaply made item for a pretty high price. But they know they are virtually the only ones making it. Holding your thumb or finger over the top does not seal it completely, and the gas leaks out before you can look at the highest level.

Very expensive for a straw… the gallon markings are just a slip of paper in the straw, not even marked permanently on there. Very cheaply done, not impressed, I would not recommend.

As others have mentioned, it is way overpriced for what it is, which is an acrylic tube with a pice of paper or similar inside. Im sure it could be accurate, however, the problem is, the paper, which has the measuring scale, in just stuffed inside and is held by friction only. In fact, I dropped it on my floor and the tab shifted out of position. There is literally nothing to keep it from moving and thus, losing accuracy. Given the tabs on the PA28, the only reason I bought this was to have an accurate measure of my fuel quantity. Dont waste your money on this cheap piece of junk!
