Overview

Otto Controls has been making the switches used in a majority of military and commercial flight grips manufactured for the last 40 years. Otto has evolved from a switch supplier into a major grip supplier with flight grips in numerous military and commercial aircraft. These rugged grips are the same as their military qualified grips, but without the expensive threaded connector. Grips have a 1.15" ID which can be adapted to a 3/4" or 7/8" joystick with separate sleeves.

Q: Does the Otto Cobra grip come with the switches included as pictured?

The switches are included in the kit however they are not installed as in the picture.

Q: Does the OTTO Cobra grip come in a left hand version?

Unfortunately, there is not one available in a left hand version at the moment.

Q: Can the switches be programmed for: engine start, elevator trim, flaps up and down, auto pilot disconnect, EFIS functions?

Yes. Stick grips can be wired for these tasks but you will need to decide which switch will be set up for each task and then confirm the wires from the system matches each switch input/output.

Q: I'd like to install one in my Piper Super-Cruiser PA-12... Are these FAA certified on GA small single engine or comes with an STC?

No. The Otto grips are Mil-Spec parts for experimental aircraft. No STC's are available at this time.

Q: What is the difference between the B8 and the Cobra grips?

Both the Cobra and B8 stick grips offer the same functions. The only difference is a slightly different design. We have drawings for each on the website.
