Made of aluminum foil with a pressure sensitive backing which adheres to most any surface that is clean and dry. The facing is made with a special anodize process which will resist sun fade-out and surface abrasion. These are the original placards that went into production in 1969 and have been copied, with less quality, by others. The placard material and anodize process meets Federal Specifications GG-455B and MIL-P-15024-B. The adhesive meets MIL-P-6906-A. Unless otherwise specified the placards are made of soft aluminum. |
The card was great, just as advertised! It was too big though to be used in my C170.
Best to use an etching tool to write on it. Felt tip sharpie doesnt seem to be permanent or dark enough.
Well made and a nicer appearance than the paper one I just removed.
I bought 4 cards: Compass Deviation Best Airspeed C.A.O. Alphabet VFR Transponder They were delivered quickly. I like that they are all of the same style (manufactured by same company). I have not yet installed the cards, but expect it to be easy. They are self adhesive. Two of the cards require testing to fill in the numbers, which I have not done yet. You can copy this recommendation to the other three cards, if you want.
