For Aviation applications, this 24041-aa-s3 is not recommended for use on flooded batteries while flooded battery is located within a confined area, such as in an aircraft engine compartment. Battery should be removed or open to free flowing air to avoid possible build-up of harmful hydrogen gas should battery have a shorted cell(s) or charging source is incorrect or malfunctions.

IMPORTANT!! All Aviation specific BatteryMINDer models are designed exclusively for use with either SEALED (AGM-non liquid) or FLOODED (liquid w/ filler caps) as manufactured by Concorde (AA-S5s) & Gill (AA-S2s) and EnerSys’ Odyssey and Hawker (AA-S3s), for use on non-commercial aircraft specifically approved by FAA and/or PMA. (AA-S3s also are designed for use with the Gill LT/7000 series.). CONCORDE has changed its recommended charge rate and effective temperature compensation range requirements for both their 12-V and 24-V sealed valve regulated AGM Aviation batteries (all sizes). Because the voltage requirements are now higher than those of Gill, we have developed the S-5s to be used exclusively on Concorde Sealed General Aviation AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries. Concorde has done extensive testing and has determined that the life and performance of their batteries will be improved by BatteryMINDers using their new specifications for charging and maintenance.
