Combining a high-quality, four place VOX intercom and built-in marker beacon receiver into the compact Terra TMA 350D Audio Panel demonstrates the Terra Technology Advantage.
The VOX (Voice Activated Intercom) allows clear communications between pilot, co-pilot, and two passengers. By using the TMA 350D, you conserve valuable panel space because a separate intercom is not needed. Also, the dangerous clutter of wires and cords from portable intercoms is avoided.
Toggle switches provide selection for up to three COMMS, two NAVS, ADF, DME, MKR plus AUX for HF or a radio telephone.
An audio isolation amplifier is included for the speaker. This feature provides isolation, even when you select the same source for a ramp hailer speaker or intercom. It also prevents cross talk between selected audio outputs. The isolation amplifier includes an auto switch, allowing the desired communication audio to track the setting of the mic selector. You can select this feature for either speaker or headphone outputs. If these features are not enough, the TMA 350D provides inputs which you can use for Radar Altimeter DH warning, or a Flight Phone Telephone ring.
In the unlikely event of an audio panel failure, the TMA 350D has a built-in emergency mode which automatically routes your headphones and microphone to Comm 1.
Another feature of the TMA 350D is its built-in marker beacon receiver. This provides the standard visual 3-light presentation and audio tone which identifies the beacon you’re passing over. The unit’s integral marker lamps have an automatic timing feature. Remote lamp connections are also available if needed.
The marker receiver has a threeposition sensitivity switch. In HIGH mode, the receiver is set for maximum sensitivity. In AUTO mode, the exclusive automatic audio muting reset gives you more time to concentrate on the approach. This means no cumbersome reaching over to mute or reset the audio. When in AUTO position, the TMA 350D automatically mutes the audio after 12 seconds and then resets it to High sensitivity. In TEST mode, all lamps are lit indicating proper operation. Of course with the TMA 350D, you can select the marker tone for either speaker or phone outputs.
